About Me
Who am I?
I am an up and coming food photographer based in Hampshire, who combines both my passion for food and photography together to capture a variety of different dishes, drinks and culinary projects through my lens. I believe food photography can do a lot more than just capture a picture of your food, it can portray the vibrant energy of a restaurant, the unique details of a recipe or even the story behind the chef and the dish. This is why food photography is such a big passion of mine, and why I want to provide you with the perfect photo.
My Qualifications
Food photography has always been a passion of mine, as it was the first ever photo I took with the camera I was gifted as a child. Since then, I have taken photography at GCSEs, A-Level and completed a degree at the University of Portsmouth. Throughout this time I have been lucky enough to work with many different people and have experimented with many different styles of photography. I have also been a part of multiple collections, whilst having my work professionally printed and displayed in places such as the Old Historic Dockyard in Portsmouth, as well as Free Range in London. Experiences like these have introduced me to the professional side of photography, and have succeeded in nothing more than to excite me to develop my career further. Within these several years of experimenting with my work and different styles, I discovered that I am most enthusiastic about food photography, which has driven me to pursue it as my career. Since then, I have devoted lots of my spare time into food photography, buying new equipment, researching different techniques, and of course, taking many photos.
My Journey
My journey of food photography outside of university had a difficult start, but with consistency, the results came. I started by ordering all the equipment needed, as none of it was free to use from my university anymore! This included different tripods, lighting setups, backdrops, and all the dishes I had to cook. Almost all of the images in my portfolio are cooked by myself. After all these expensive purchases, I had to find a place to put all of it, and luckily my mum was generous enough to let me use her conservatory as a make-shift studio! This was perfect as it was right next to the kitchen, and has meant I have been able to produce most of the images you can see within my portfolio. However, I am looking to move studios, hopefully to your restaurant, a professional studio or to your kitchen to photograph your food blogs. Please contact me if you would like to work together!
Future Goals
Some of my future goals as a food photographer are of course to develop my skills, such as experimenting and becoming familiar with different lighting techniques, food-styling and advanced post production. This will lead to a far bigger and better portfolio of mine, where I hopefully aim to achieve many different styles of photography ranging from stylish drinks, food themes from multiple cultures and beautiful interiors of restaurants. Having a portfolio like this would make myself as a photographer proud of what I have achieved and who I have become, which is why this is such an important goal of mine. This will also give me the opportunity to expand my business and work with multiple clients. Working with different people and helping them achieve their goals is one of the many reasons I love being a photographer, making this something I am looking forward to most.
What I Offer
As a photographer, I am open to any client and challenge that I am given. My services can range from restaurant shoots, food blogs and even photographs for magazines. If you are after a restaurant shoot, you can expect your menu to be showcased perfectly, such as specific dishes or drinks, as well as your unique interiors and other aspects you would like captured. I will always try to include your branding in my photos, which could be your logo on napkins or cutlery, as this brings a professional feel to the photos, making them more personal to you. For food bloggers, I will capture each recipe of yours using my studio skills with professional lighting and backdrops. Of Course, you will have a say in the many different styles and options of backdrops and props, to ensure each of your recipes is captured to your needs to help boost your brand. I will also include all the ingredients and other aspects that are personal to the dish which will bring it to life for your blog. My services for magazines are very similar to the food bloggers. However, this would allow me to be more creative and use my graphic design skills to engage your audience. All of these opportunities excite me to put my photography skills to the test and improve your brand. I can promise that within my services I do not only provide professional photos, but I guarantee to work closely with my client to understand their vision and provide images that reach their goals.
